Sammy Kaye DeJaynes, age 64, of rural Carman, Illinois, passed away at 3:16 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.He was born June 11, 1959, in Macomb, Illinois, the son of Charles and Leota Twidwell DeJaynes. On March 5, 1999, he married Lisa Johnson in Burlington.Sam was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed at Industrial Service Corporation since June of 2021. Previously, he worked for Riley Paint Company for 12 years.His number one priority in life, was his family, and would do anything for them. He loved gardening, mowing, taking care of his flowers and his dogs, and was a loyal and dedicated fan of the Chicago Cubs. Sam was known most for his huge heart and compassion for other people.Survivors include his wife; his parents of Dallas City, Illinois; one son, Nathan DeJaynes of Rockford, Illinois; one daughter, Lacey (Cody) Thacker of Biggsville, Illinois; two stepdaughters, Samantha (Aaron) Magee of Raritan, Illinois,
