Ralph Tatge, 98, of Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away peacefully at Oakwood Estates in Stronghurst on Jan. 1, 2025.He was born on April 13, 1926, in Elgin, Illinois, to John and Ida Schultz Tatge. Ralph was preceded in death by his mother at the age of 6 and was later raised in Rozetta, Illinois, by Walter B. and Louise "Lou" Alexander Gregory, and their daughter Louise Gregory Carlson and her husband Vincent Carlson, when he was 9 years old.Ralph was a veteran of the United States Army and served in General Patton's 4th Armored Division during World War II, a chapter in his life that he carried with him with great pride.On Nov. 27, 1948, Ralph married Darlene Hustead, and she survives him. Ralph was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He attended school in Biggsville and graduated from Stronghurst High School, and later became an active member of Stronghurst Christian Church, where he served as Deacon and Elder for several years.
